Update at 8 weeks!

Firstly I would like to say a big Thank you to Jenny, Miah's breeder for all these regular lovely updates. Its something we were looking for in a breeder, and that is 'Communication'. They say a good breeder is worth their weight in Gold ! We have the same with Joey and Renae's breeder as well. It is something that is very important to us! :)

Its been a big week for Miah and her siblings with many new experiences. They have now all been microchipped and had their first vaccinations. Miah did very well both in the car and also at the vets where she enjoyed being fussed over and didn't object to any of the examinations. She passed her health checks with flying colours.

All going to plan Jenny will be bringing Miah up to us in the next 2 weeks. My husband Michael is taking a short time off work so we can both be home to help settle her in. We now have a couple of  puppy pens and have been getting our place organised for her arrival.I keep saying to Joey and Renae, Miah will be here soon, but they have no idea what I am on about lol

Its official her full registered name is 'Cooinda Moon Light Melody Miah'

The last photo reminds us of Renae with the way she sleeps at times too ;-)

Update at 7 weeks!

The Cooinda puppies were 7 weeks old last Tuesday, how quickly are they all growing !

This is part of  the recent weekly update email Jenny their breeder sent us .

''At 7 weeks the puppies are now eating 3 good meals a day , confidently running and playing all over the back yard and up and down the back steps and  ramp and interacting with the adult cavaliers. Mindy is still allowing them to have a drink every now and then and is enjoying playing with them''

Here is a photo of them all eating together. I thought Jenny their breeder had chosen the purple bowl for Miah but she said its the one Miah started eating  from. Jenny gives them plastic bowls while they are still young for safety reasons, and its easier also for her to handle when feeding them all. Miah will come to us with a purple ceramic bowl Jenny has bought her.  Purple is the colour I have chosen to be Miah's colour ;-)

Here is a photo of Miah snuggling up with her toy friends. It's exhausting work running around and playing when you are a puppy ! ;-)

Announcing Our Little Girl's name

We never thought naming a puppy would be as difficult as it has been..

We were looking for something that represented her being born on our 8th Wedding Anniversary. Her and her litter mates weren't actually due on the 27th Nov 2012, but came a bit earlier. It was like it was meant to be ! I actually dreamt about the birth I think the night before, well close enough to the big event. I did see Tri colour puppies in among them. So there has been a few symbolic events that we have wanted to link up to her name. We were also trying to find one that had an Aboriginal meaning to it, as her Prefix is Cooinda, which means 'Happy Place'
